Apple Dumplings

Easy quick and delicious dessert topped with ice cream.

Ingredients:
2 whole apples, Granny Smith
2 cans (8 oz.) crescent rolls
2 sticks butter
1 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
cinnamon to taste
1 can (12 oz.) Mountain Dew Soda

Peel and core apples.  Cut each apple into 8 slices each.  Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll triangle.  Place in a buttered 9x13 baking dish.
Melt butter, then add sugar and barely stir.  Add vanilla, stir, and pour entire mixture over wrapped apples.  Pour Mt. Dew around the edges of the pan, not directly over the dumplings.  Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.  Serve with ice cream and spoon some of the sauce over the top.  Serves 8 with 2 dumplings each or 16 with one per serving.
